Day 2: You’re going to get wet!

"Yippee!" "Whoa, that was AWESOME!" and "That's Fan-Freakin-Tastic!" are just a few of the phrases that you might be screaming throughout the day today.

We’ll wake up and leave San Jose early this morning, stopping for a delicious Costa Rican breakfast while on our way to our first activity.

Today we have an exciting, adrenaline-filled day of white water rafting down the Pacuare River. That's right, the Pacuare River, the same one that National Geographic listed as one of the top five most beautiful raftable rivers in the world.

Only the best for our guests!

Upon arriving at the river, our guides will carefully load all of our gear into dry bags, prepare our equipment and give us complete safety and paddling instruction.

The class 3 Pacuare rapids will wind us deep within the heart of the forest that is home to jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and many species of exotic birds. We’ll stop on a quiet riverbank for a picnic lunch prepared by our guides before continuing to our lodge for the night.

Day 3: Excitement and beauty get all tangled up.

After a hearty breakfast and loading our rafts, we will prepare to paddle down the Pacuare River once again. Today we’ll pass gushing waterfalls and serene pools while having another exhilarating afternoon running rapids like the Upper and Lower, Huacas, Cimarron, Dos Montanas and many more.

You’ll be wishing this never had to end!

Hot lunch will be served at the end of the trip, where we will also be able to dry off and change if needed.

Our private transportation will be waiting for us here, ready to transfer us to the Arenal Area.

We’ll arrive at our lodge, Hotel Volcano Lodge, where we will check in and have the rest of the afternoon to spend relaxing in the hot springs and thermal waters of the Springs Resort.

Overnight: Hotel Volcano Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4: Canoeing the Cano Negro Wildlife Reserve.

The wildlife here is absolutely incredible!

After a big breakfast, we will depart to Cano Negro Wildlife Reserve, which is one of the most important biologically diverse areas in Costa Rica.

We are going to explore this vast area by canoe, paddling down the Rio Frio or Rio Los Patos, completely surrounded by thousands of species of beautiful birds, all three native species of monkeys and the hundreds of reptiles and amphibians that frequent the riverbanks.

After a full day of exploring, we’ll return to our lodge to relax – and, hopefully, the very active Arenal Volcano will entertain us with an explosive night show.

Day 5: Ever want to walk up an active volcano?

Today we get to walk up one of the most impressive volcanoes in the world.

After breakfast, we’ll lace up our hiking boots and begin our gentle walk up the third most active volcano in the world. Arenal Volcano will probably be showing off with views of red-hot rocks rolling down its steep slopes and views of huge ash columns rising high above the crater.

Our knowledgeable guide will lead us through the forests over recent lava flows and areas of regeneration while explaining the abundance of wildlife, plants and the lava rock formations along the trail. The hike will end at a viewing area where, weather permitting, we’ll see red-hot lava rolling down the side of the volcano. Truly amazing!

When we return from our hike, we’ll be transferred to the Monteverde area where we will check into our new lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing, exploring the area or visiting with the locals of the small and picturesque town of Monteverde.

Day 6: Walking on clouds.

Today we’re spending our time up in the clouds of the Monteverde Cloud Forest.

After breakfast, we’re going to visit the most famous cloud forest reserve in the world, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. This place is like nothing you have ever seen before. The first time you visit, you’re going to be astounded by the amount of greenery and wildlife. Quick, pinch yourself! This place is real.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is home to more than 400 species of birds, more than 3000 plant species, more than 120 mammal species and more than 130 amphibian and reptile species. What does this all mean? It means that we are extremely lucky to have such a patient and knowledgeable guide with us who doesn't mind answering our "What's that?" questions every few seconds.

Once we have finished exploring the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, we’ll visit Selvatura Park, where we will stroll over eight massive hanging bridges that allow us to explore the cloud forest from a bird’s-eye view.

Today is all about relaxing on the beautiful white sandy beaches and swimming in the beautiful waters of Manuel Antonio National Park.

This place is incredible. It's one of those places that you see on a commercial or in a movie and say, "Wow, why can't I ever find those places?” Well, here you are!

There are stunning white sand beaches, the view of not-so-distant islands in the background, and we are surrounded by a lush rainforest that follows us right up to the beach.

When was the last time you were able to relax on a beautiful beach with the sights and sounds of a very active rainforest right behind you?

This is a little piece of adventure paradise!

We’ll eat lunch at a local restaurant, and then have the remainder of the afternoon to continue doing as we wish -- rest on the beautiful beaches, hike the surrounding rainforest trails or relax back at the hotel.

Have you ever wanted to fly like a bird from tree to tree? Here's your chance!

Costa Rica is famous for having some of the best zip lining in the world and today we have set you up with not only one of the best, but also one of the longest with the greatest views.

After breakfast, we are going to get mentally prepared for one of the best rides of our lives. We’ll be flying with the birds along suspension cables from platform to platform while enjoying the tropical forest from our unique vantage point.

There are 16 platforms, four of which are built on the ground, and the other 12 hang over 90 feet above it from robust trees in the primary forest.

Absolutely incredible and this is perfect for all ages! So don't try and get out of it.

The rest of the afternoon is spent at our leisure relaxing on the beaches, exploring the forests or resting at our lodge.
